😊 Welcome to the Sea Turtles😊

In Year 5, there are 35 amazing children, Mrs Lenton, and Miss Rouke. Keep checking back on our class page to see the great things we are achieving this year.

Antarctica!

We are going to be learning about Antarctica this half term. We will be covering: what it is like there; the climate; who Ernest Shackleton is; which animals and plants can live there; global warming and more!

We will also be learning about Living Things and their Habitats. This will involve looking at places where different living animals live. It will also include learning about plants.

Cadburys World

Ancient Maya

We will be learning about the Ancient Mayan Civilisation. This will involve learning about their way of life, jobs, food, number systems, masks, Mayan gods, where they lived and so much more!

We will also be going on a trip to Cadbury's World on 14th December 2022. We will go on a tour of Cadbury World, which features the Maya’s involvement in the early history of cocoa in c.AD 900.

We will also be making our Christmas Cushions this half term, so keep your eyes on our class page to see some pictures of our great sewing!

laughSWIMMING INFORMATIONlaugh

Swimming will continue from

 Monday 7th November 2022

Reminders about kit:

Swim wear:

  • Girls – a one piece costume. Bikinis/tankinis can ride up.
  • Boys - shorts above the knee so as not to restrict movement/drag them down.

Jewellery:  All jewellery to be removed and left at home or school. Earrings can stick into the back of the ear; fall out in the water; etc.

Hair: All long hair (both boys and girls) must be tied back to stop hair restricting vision. The recommendation is to wear a swimming cap.

Goggles: Goggles are the pupils’ responsibility. They need to fit correctly and know how to put them on. They will be asked to take them off for some activities at times.

Here we post all the work that we have been proud of in class. Please take a look at the awesome work we can achieve when we try our best!
